Application identifiers (AIs) : Stock control, distribution and financial management system can be greatly enhanced if information such as delivery and billing address can be read automatically using application identifiers and GS1 -128 bar codes.

There are over 100 application identifiers which are recognised regularly the world over and represented through numeric codes as illustrated in the schematic diagram above
