We now have a unilateral formation of ECR Indonesia with 7 retail subscribers, 7 manufacturers and 4 other subscribers. Three activities planned for next 12 months. 1) Standards - create a framework and prioritize the issue of introducing international standard into Indonesia 2) Education & awareness - Draft program and prioritize 3) Plans to discuss with government several aspects of legislation
--Education workgroup to provide training material to ECR Indonesia based on their priorities
--ECR Indonesia to leverage ECR Taiwan experience in working with the government.

  China

Established on 17th July 2000 as China SCM Council. Article numbering/CCFA Co chair. Launch survey on SCM on 1st September - will end by Dec 31, 2000. Results of the survey will determine problems, which can be address by the council.
--Ed McDonald commented that CCFA is very influential and the initiative should utilize their support and network as much as possible.
--Jim Flannery reminded CSCMC that we need industry co-chairs as well. CSCMC is aware and have committed to put this in place.

ECR ASIA going forward
The group was briefed on a number of potential workgroups for ECR ASIA. Each subscriber was asked to commit to participate in at least one of the prioritized workgroups. There was some concern about the implementation process of ECR ASIA initiatives, however, an understanding was reached that this responsibility lies with the country boards and the individual subscriber organizations. ECR ASIA can only provide a platform as well as guidelines.
It was agreed to implement critical KPIs as part of the workgroup plans. This will provide a mechanism to track progress and it will ensure that national boards get the maximum benefit from ECR ASIA through optimum alignment.
--Encourage the senior executive to push agenda on what ECR Asia is doing at the APEC or ABEC Conference. Communications group should keep this in mind.
A workgroup prioritization process took place with the following result:
