On behalf of Director General of Foreign Trade (DGFT), National Informatics Centre (NIC) has designed the Drug Authentication and Verification Application (DAVA) based on GS1 standards. The application can also authenticate products through the DAVA mobile app.

Standards made it possible to uniquely identify, capture and share important information on pharmaceuticals exported from India with regulators and patients.

Today, more than 380 large and medium sized pharmaceutical companies have registered and uploaded production data to DAVA.

GS1 India continues to work closely with NIC & DGFT to support the implementation of this application.
