FASTags see greater acceptance, overtake cash toll collection on national highways
Toll collection across the national highway network through GS1 Standards based FASTag has surpassed payments made through cash. While average daily toll collection through FASTag increased by nearly 66% in a month -- from Rs 26.4 crore in the third week of November (17-23) to Rs 44 crore in the third week of December (15-21), daily cash collection dipped by 30% during this period—from Rs 51crore to Rs 35.5 crore, the Times of India said in a report.

Government Postpones FASTag Deadline To 15th December, 2019
Recently, the government had set a deadline for all car owners to register their cars with FASTag IDs. This mandatory procedure was a result of the heavy traffic the citizens have to face at toll plazas on a daily basis. However, despite giving a deadline, many people haven’t registered their cars with a Fastag yet. So, the government has now decided to extend the deadline for FASTag registrations to the 15th of December, 2019. Here are a few important details about FASTags and why they are so important:
